The Kamnara of Sakwa are making ground to build for future generations

Greetings from the Kamnara of Sakwa! The Kamnara people of Sakwa on 27th December 2024 gathered at Village Park, Ajigo (near Bondo). Hosted by Kwaka Joseph, they hearkened to the consultative forum call, arriving in good numbers and early enough for a successful day. The gathering was chaired by Mr. Nying’ro James Onyango, a former (retired) assistant commissioner of Police. The introductions were excellent. The genealogies were mentioned in reverence, lengthy ones applauded. And courtesy of Enos Oyaya’s book, “Kamnara my people”, anyone who would need help had the documentation. Oyaya had launched the Kamnara book on 30th December 2022 at his home in Kamnara Mwalo, an event that gathered Vakamnara from far and wide. “What can we do that the generations to come will benefit from?” This was the clarion Mr. Kwaka Joseph called on all to fashion their minds to. And issues were raised in the fields of Education, health, agriculture, enterprise, politics and more that the swift dholuo would...

I plead guilty my Lord! (I'm innocent though)

If you get arrested today please remember to leave a comment on this article once you get out of the cells tomorrow. You will be released tomorrow of course cause you do not deserve to be in the cells. They are as good as that.

Judges need work. And their work is to judge among others. The legitimacy of their cases depends on who is telling you what transpired before and after the case.  When they enter an empty courtroom a man risks his job. You are therefore more likely to be arrested anyhow on Sunday to make Monday a busy day to the employed.

Food was ready and the only thing that could make the eating and later late night works moving was the coffee drink. His friend proposed to let them walk out and come back with a sachet each. They had scooped a spoon each of the supper delicacy. They were to continue eating one day later. That was the fate of my friend.

A taxi driver who had parked to pick a bottle of water from the shop, a boy who had been sent out for a packet of flour and a Maasai Moran who was on his line of duty all added to the growing number of guilty men in the land rover. You are more likely to be arrested if you are a man.

Targets! Our judicial system is corrupt as other enforcers of the law. Taking the traffic men as an example, driven by both the dark and semi-dark forces aim to have raised a certain amount of money in a specified time. That is why women at work are as corrupt as men. At the end of the day a nation is founded on falsehood.

A loud-mouthed lad who complained all the way to Buruburu police of how innocent he was and the fight he would employ in revenge could not prevent himself from agreeing with the day’s hammer that he was guilty! The effects of saying that you are not guilty surpass claiming otherwise. To say that you aren’t guilty calls for reprimanding that will be followed by long time investigations that will at the end of the day bring you more losses. Son of peasants are therefore prone to arrests.

Crammed in a small room like slaves on transit, the innocent boys, unhappy of the system waits for the dawn like hell. There is no room for one to stand hence unable to squat or lie. Sweating and the stench of the bodies, sometimes put together with people whose hygiene is questionable is such a detrimental experience. You wake up to a day that those who arrested you are off from work.

It is true that prison is not away from you (me). Don’t read till you are discharged.
