Major Generations of the World - 1883 to Date

 *Lost Generation* - Borns 1883-1900. 
Extinct. Characterized by disorientation, wondering and directionless. 

 *Greatest Generation (G.I)*- Borns 1901-1927. Old Age, 94+ years now. Characterized by resiliency, able to come out of hardships, survive and solve problems. 

 *Silent Generation* - Borns 1928 - 1945. People of 75 years and above now. Grew up in hardships. Learnt to put their heads down. 'Not to waste' an opportunity. Not to question order. Spendthrifts. Prefer to see children. Not to hear them. 

 *Baby Boomers* - Borns 1946-1964. Now 55 years and above. They are associated with privileges. Associate themselves as lucky.  Some grew up conservative. Others with a strong cultural cleavage. 

 *Generation X* - Borns 1965-1980. Now 40 years and above. The entrepreneurial group. Music and Video generation. Had little adult supervision. Alienated youths. 

 *Generation Y (Millenials)* - Borns 1981-1996. 24+ years now. Coming of Age in the Information Age. Also echo-boomers cause they are children of generation boomers. Also identified as Generation Me, slow to rites as marriage. 

 *Generation Z.* Borns 1996-date. Characterized as consumers of digital technology but not necessarily digitally literate. Parents cherishing each as 'snow flake', 'unique' or 'everyone is special'. Also called post millennials. They describe themselves as loyal, compassionate, open-minded, responsible and determined. They view *generation Y* as competitive, spontaneous, adventuresome and curious - xrestics they do not see in themselves.
