The struggle with many a rigid Logooli cultural practices

The Logooli community is one of the deeply cultured societies – with near everything supposed to have been done as per custom – to allow another custom to follow. One example is that for a mature man (with a child or more) to be buried, there must be a house structure at home. Another is that a boy must be circumcised and nursed in father land. If maternal family decides to, the boy will have a hard time reconnecting with father people - a dent on his masculinity. There were two children who got burnt to death in a house in Nairobi. The single mother had left for night work. Elders were told that one of the children was Logooli. The other, the woman had sired with someone else. The Logooli family wanted to burry their little one and long discussed the do’s and don’ts. Of a man who died childless and the grave was placed as if he had died as a man with children. It should have been dug on the sides, the grave. A real thorn should have been thrust in his buttocks, his name go...

An eye camp outreach by the CBO?

Saul Asige: Hi bro I also support the football team. Kindly pass the message on this wall about the eye camp, set a date and venue. Thanks

Lung'afa: Yes, I need share.

But often new ideas may be discouraged. 😁😁.

Maybe we just used this forum to report activities.  So that it can only be a matter of the executive and later publicized here.

I am yet to share with the chair, sec and patrons. Today after the match to get their views.

We are positive. It will happen. 👌🏿👌🏿

Baba Ndanyi: I cannot tell what's going on, but I guess it's something good, please tell me what's going on

Lung'afa: 😂😂.

About results or the eye camp? I guess all of them.

Fkf County League - Vihiga
Saniaga 0-1 Rangers

About the eye camp, Asige yesterday posted on Saniaga Tiriki West forum a suggestion of us organising a such event and I thought it a good idea...I did not rush to post here because, as expected, there will be many corrections bordering discouragement than positive feedbacks (We affect each other so).

Maybe once Asigi and co. has been reached and clarified more on it then can we engage. But greatly if Dr. Sidika was reached on this then we can even have a big thought on the same.

@⁨Saul Asige⁩
@⁨Doc!⁩

Doc!: How many on the group are for a medical/eye camp? How much time/ finances are we willing to give towards the event? It requires partnership with other like minded organizations for example Rotary/ Lions. I have no problem in engaging medical partners. Organizational logistics and funding would be our responsibility. We need someone in this group to develop a budget for it. Sidika

+254 726 7820xx‬: I'm for the idea

Lung'afa: Yes Doc,

What does such a budget need in consideration?

Doc!: Budget should indicate the possible drugs/medicines to be used, transport for medical volunteers, snacks/bitings,teas/coffee. Consumables (gloves, cotton wool, meth spirit, spatulas etc) sterile packs and the eye specialists can add others peculiar to their practice. Sidika

Doc!: The partners can actually provide technical and professional personnel. Sidika

Lung'afa: Good to know.

The nearest dispensary is Kilagiru. And Sabatia eye hospital at a near reach too.

Can they be of importance? Can they be 'on our side' as we seek partners in your circle?

Lung'afa: Health workers are galore here. Infact we may need few to join to lighten some things.

What says you @⁨Vincent Iramuka⁩ and @⁨Angano -Nyorotis⁩? Can we know what we can do better and whom to engage too?

It may end up to be one of the best camps ever done around. 😁😁😁
