Luanda Reggae Defenders - what is your long term agenda?

Luanda Reggae Defenders is a now a popular movement with roots in Vihiga and border Siaya and Kakamega counties Attention is brought to the manner and conduct the movement has gained fame and followers, mainly the Youths. The movement capitalizes on funerals. With a poor culture of putting the dead to rest, the Reggae Defenders have taken it by storm and rebranded the infamous ‘Disco Matanga’ – disco at funeral. They have this huge old school sound system that is over buzzing to no clear reggae song - that they hire a pickup to carry - and it has a young DJ mainly standing there than mixing anything. Often, against the rules, the casket is grabbed from a hearse vehicle and tied to a motorbike. There it will be swayed and jerk breaked between other motorbikes on the narrow roads. That, is, how a fellow soldier, often a young dead, is mourned. ...

Take time to observe the sky. We will be hosting the moon in this cycle.


It was more than a week since I started looking for the signs of the new moon. Yesterday, when I was least expecting it, the shiny spectacle hit my nerves. As thin as it was, the celestial body was doing strong and promising another better cycle. Unlike the previous moon which came with a loss of some of my goodies and the end of my campus program, this has found me freerer and idealistic.

It must have been hidden in the sky for I am not sure whether it was first yesterday or a day before. I understand that there is a crescent stage that is rarely seen. Yesterday, as I take it was the first and I expect to do the same for the following cycle. Keep reading.


Then a thought came about…will people in future be religious as a profession? For instance, we have medics, astronomy, and marsonry among related occupations. Such is the way with my love for literature. The moon, as I may not want to be superstitious sometimes sees me mumble a prayer. Not to gods of course. Or maybe because the mind, heart and me are beings fed differently. Only a few thinkers may be religious…of course not the primitive one we doing now. Professionally religious I mean.
