The Kamnara of Sakwa are making ground to build for future generations

Greetings from the Kamnara of Sakwa! The Kamnara people of Sakwa on 27th December 2024 gathered at Village Park, Ajigo (near Bondo). Hosted by Kwaka Joseph, they hearkened to the consultative forum call, arriving in good numbers and early enough for a successful day. The gathering was chaired by Mr. Nying’ro James Onyango, a former (retired) assistant commissioner of Police. The introductions were excellent. The genealogies were mentioned in reverence, lengthy ones applauded. And courtesy of Enos Oyaya’s book, “Kamnara my people”, anyone who would need help had the documentation. Oyaya had launched the Kamnara book on 30th December 2022 at his home in Kamnara Mwalo, an event that gathered Vakamnara from far and wide. “What can we do that the generations to come will benefit from?” This was the clarion Mr. Kwaka Joseph called on all to fashion their minds to. And issues were raised in the fields of Education, health, agriculture, enterprise, politics and more that the swift dholuo would...

How the moon was sitting in the sky today
Today! Thanks heavens...

I was still lost in my readings that when Abdul posted today's moon picture that I quickly moved out to observe by self...somewhere in the sky there was nothing. Just brightness in lying parts. I tried to look beyond but the buildings overlapped the sky. I wandered my sky up...and there the thing was..There! There it is! I saw it moving in the clouds..,or were the clouds moving in it? I ran inside. Help me the camera! Give me the camera! I have seen it.

Yesterday I may have missed it due to poor timing and sighting. The moon is not stagnent. Where it appeared from today is not where it will tomorrow. Don't search it when it is just above your head. Some days are good...you seek and opportunities arrive. Some moments are darkness- you wait to no luck.

No power charge! Ops! Where will I charge the camera? USB please. One minute...five minutes...is it still there? Yes it is. Will it die soon? Yes it may. Took the camera and moved out, pressed power on- Not responding! More harder! Not responding. Ops...there was no enough power. I took it to the power again...five minutes, no power again! What will I do? There it is, encroached by the clouds. It may die soon...am I not lucky today again? Without a camera the picture will disappear. My eyes have seen vanity...too much of it that the beautiful face of the moon may be soon washed. What should I do?

Jump jump run! The next office. Do you have a charger? Ops I can see it. Let me take it. Trust me I will take it back. Trust me. I took it by conditions. I tried to sound nice. Five minutes...direct charging will make things right. More minutes..is the moon still there? Yes. But the clouds.

That is what you love? Yes. Bye. Bye too. I am still around an hour or so. I must write about the moon. I promised self and friends to do it. I should not fail a day. Though the day was hard-full of disagreements- Yes I talked in the face of my boos that I am not any other cheap worker- only my diary knows...I have my moon.

I have a reason to go on and on. And grow as the moon is growing and wait for death as the moon will die. But in the meantime, let us fellowship when our eyes meet.
