Luanda Reggae Defenders - what is your long term agenda?

Luanda Reggae Defenders is a now a popular movement with roots in Vihiga and border Siaya and Kakamega counties Attention is brought to the manner and conduct the movement has gained fame and followers, mainly the Youths. The movement capitalizes on funerals. With a poor culture of putting the dead to rest, the Reggae Defenders have taken it by storm and rebranded the infamous ‘Disco Matanga’ – disco at funeral. They have this huge old school sound system that is over buzzing to no clear reggae song - that they hire a pickup to carry - and it has a young DJ mainly standing there than mixing anything. Often, against the rules, the casket is grabbed from a hearse vehicle and tied to a motorbike. There it will be swayed and jerk breaked between other motorbikes on the narrow roads. That, is, how a fellow soldier, often a young dead, is mourned. ...

We envision a future of Community Libraries in Vihiga

-: We are envisioning a future of community libraries in Vihiga. The room at Gamalenga is almost complete. 

We also have a building for us at Zimbalo. 

And many others as they come. 

At least each Saniaga group to patronise a community library.

We have volunteer buildings at Gamalenga, Zimbalo and Mbale waiting to be renovated and works commence. 

-: Mr. Ukiru at Mbale, Olembo building and Neccy Kikaya have both offered spaces for SANIAGA SACCO. 

- All we need is within us.

-: SNV Netherlands funded such an initiative some years back.
It is actually my first successful project proposal.

The Hamisi Community Resource Centre.

They gave us a computer and printer, salary for 6 months, newspapers, and money for renovation ...
This is a great concept Saniagas ...Money for books too

-: With several community libraries, me thinks, we may not only attract such partners but also be used as a benchmark to other communities that need such good organization. 

- Let us all be supportive.

-: i have library room that  I can volunteer. Is it possible to have it a christen it The Keleda Kibe Saniaga Memorial  library at Mukenye Market Busali. Deliberate and let me know. I would also be the pioneer donater of books especially for our primary and secondary communities.
