Luanda Reggae Defenders - what is your long term agenda?

Luanda Reggae Defenders is a now a popular movement with roots in Vihiga and border Siaya and Kakamega counties Attention is brought to the manner and conduct the movement has gained fame and followers, mainly the Youths. The movement capitalizes on funerals. With a poor culture of putting the dead to rest, the Reggae Defenders have taken it by storm and rebranded the infamous ‘Disco Matanga’ – disco at funeral. They have this huge old school sound system that is over buzzing to no clear reggae song - that they hire a pickup to carry - and it has a young DJ mainly standing there than mixing anything. Often, against the rules, the casket is grabbed from a hearse vehicle and tied to a motorbike. There it will be swayed and jerk breaked between other motorbikes on the narrow roads. That, is, how a fellow soldier, often a young dead, is mourned. ...

Baba Ndanyi: Good morning family I  am glad many of us are responding well to the Saniaga Sacco and I hope many more will come on board soonest; but I would like us to go a notch higher, I will make our contributions (my family and I) by end of next week, I will make contributions equivalent to one year's deposits @ 200 per month; my appeal to you is that plan to give to the Sacco an equivalent of one year's deposits @ 200 per month, by end of this year so that when we launch the Sacco during our AGM we can hand over the Sacco when it's healthy, I would appeal to as many of us to join and pay up, the Sacco is one of the avenues of empowering our people economically, God bless you all.

Lung'afa: Yes Papa. That means we are contributing Ksh (200×12) = 2400 per person by Dec. 

But then, that is small a money for one year! If we stuck to 500 per month per person, it would be (500×12) = 6000. Now that would be a deal. A real deal. Come AGM we will have something to talk about. Because we can. 

Then again, will we have to backpay? That we start paying as from January 2018? So that by the end of this month all of us need to have committed about (500×8) = 4000? Yes we should. A good point of start, it will be! 

Family, let us make hay today, won't we?

Kibisu Joash: 500 may be a tall order for other people but if the majority goes by the proposal then I support it 100%.

For this year and because we have only few months to end the year, let our debt with the Sacco be 2400 + 200 membership, from January 2019 we have to raise to 500 per month, and also those who will join after Dec this year, will have to register with 500, we are in the grace period now.
