Luanda Reggae Defenders - what is your long term agenda?

Luanda Reggae Defenders is a now a popular movement with roots in Vihiga and border Siaya and Kakamega counties Attention is brought to the manner and conduct the movement has gained fame and followers, mainly the Youths. The movement capitalizes on funerals. With a poor culture of putting the dead to rest, the Reggae Defenders have taken it by storm and rebranded the infamous ‘Disco Matanga’ – disco at funeral. They have this huge old school sound system that is over buzzing to no clear reggae song - that they hire a pickup to carry - and it has a young DJ mainly standing there than mixing anything. Often, against the rules, the casket is grabbed from a hearse vehicle and tied to a motorbike. There it will be swayed and jerk breaked between other motorbikes on the narrow roads. That, is, how a fellow soldier, often a young dead, is mourned. ...

The Oboge

With Engoke, second from right and his two acquintances at Mazigulu village
There are three historical sites mu kivanda waGevera. A stone that is said to have had a footstep of Jesus, a padlock to his treasure and a casket a little ahead. Things that in the few ended years have been of speculation. Let us get there, the land I mean.

VaDamai on the left, Saniaga between, vaRogovo the other side, walking downwards from Mazigulu. The 'padlock' would later be mauled by Road Engineers. There, that land, was Oboge's. He did not buy. Yahamba vugwi. As many others did when land had no prior claimants.

Oboge was the son of Kavoro. Kavoro the son of Kavuravu. Of an unknown ancestor for now. And Oboge begot Didi first before Chonerwa, Amurega and Agaro with a second wife, Kavochi, muYonga. Agaro died in 1952 leaving behind Engoke of 1932 with Leah Imari, muDidi. Agaro had another wife, he had more children who he begot from the wives of the deceased, not well elaborated by the respondent to this, William Engoke.

However, the second woman he had, Zipporah Mirenje, mwiGina,   together they begot Festo, Elam, Oboge, Harun and Musoda. All of waGevera. She is reported to have sold an upper better chunk of the land.

Engoke William is found at Idunya village because his uncle, the mentioned Amurega above, having moved there in one of Oboge's lands, only had 3 girls. He went to 'secure' the land.

By his effort, Engoke did buy land as he worked as a pump attendant with Davis and Shirtliffe. The land is in Bukhungu location, Isuka. Where he has settled three of his sons. Engoke is presently 87 years old.
