Animal Names

-‬: @Lung'afa
Kibuusi is not L'logoli - kibaga

-: Pussy,  paka... Vyaraa kuho luswahiri nurusungu nirutaiza kweri!!?

-: I pick kibaga because many original luhya words are still there in Kiswahili.

-: Eg mbwa and imbwa

-: Imbwa I doubt. There is a word for a dog.

Lion is not isimba/king'ang'a. Somebody told me Idaranyi. Hehe

: Imbwa could be the shortening of isiimbwa, either way, still close to Swahili.

-: King'ang'a in my view is beast.

-: I tend to think most of these wild animals names are there in maragoli Bible. We can use it as a temporary benchmark. Anyone with it? Let me try find one on Google.

-‬: Reero mrakovehera vuza

-: Isiimbwa is Idakho.

-: 😂, am not coming across maragoli Bible in my play store. But sure I used to read it when I was a kid and it had a lot of vocabulary.

-: Na ndevaa hee. Ivibuusi vyaaraho umusungu nataaza!? Vitarwaaku my folklore and our folktales!? Zisimbwa yizyo zyaari Ho for sure,  kigira avahiizi varaa  nazyo mu zingano.

-: King'ang'a is the general word for beast. You can say King'ang'a chakava yaha which could be engo (leopard) or imbiti (hyena).

-‬: I've got one,navutswa kaveye tattered.

-: Imbwa is foreign. The way kibuusi is. The way kekombe is.

-: Imbwa, ikibaga, eng'oombe, imburi, iligoondi, isukiri(ipuunda), ing'wiina, iking'ang'a, emboongo, embogo, ilikinieeli, etc, all these animals existed before wazungu came, imbizi yaali imbwa yukuhiiza naho yukuhiima.

-: Ilikinieeli hicho ki mruswahili?

-: Imbizi. That's it. Not imbwa

-: Imbizi is a wild pig.

-: Kivwa is jackal, the wild dog

-: Ing'wina is a crocodile.

-: Mbol'langwa ndi ilikinieli limenyi mu magina. We do not know what it is in English because we have not seen it.

-: Kivwi is a fox, yes or a jackal

-: Rock hyrax..

-‬: Mangidi ni inyama ki mu lusungu?

-: Mangidi is mystical, it's like rinani in maragoli folk tales.
