The struggle with many a rigid Logooli cultural practices

The Logooli community is one of the deeply cultured societies – with near everything supposed to have been done as per custom – to allow another custom to follow. One example is that for a mature man (with a child or more) to be buried, there must be a house structure at home. Another is that a boy must be circumcised and nursed in father land. If maternal family decides to, the boy will have a hard time reconnecting with father people - a dent on his masculinity. There were two children who got burnt to death in a house in Nairobi. The single mother had left for night work. Elders were told that one of the children was Logooli. The other, the woman had sired with someone else. The Logooli family wanted to burry their little one and long discussed the do’s and don’ts. Of a man who died childless and the grave was placed as if he had died as a man with children. It should have been dug on the sides, the grave. A real thorn should have been thrust in his buttocks, his name go...

Instead, let us revive that great call.

-: How old exactly is this second last person to left!? I think wengine ni utoto tuuu. I don't want to associate idiocy with Saniagas.

-: Even the old ones click 'left'. 😑😑

-: Avasaniaga. Mirembe mwosi. Inze vananganga Ikivisi umwana wa Kafuna. Iridiku  lya kwavugana kuli kamnara kwali hango ha Prof. Indire. Genyekanga kuzizagili nindi amakuva agikivuni. Let's revive  with matters of substance

-: Family, we expect to occupy Wangulu library/resource centre by February. Dad Kereda is aiding the process.

A quotation on furniture is with the Fundi. We expect a simply done yet pretty place.

A few people have committed to chairs and shelves. It is in my view that we commit to furnish the place.

If we look like slowing down I will cycle to wherever you people are. And sitatoka bila kiti or whatever the library will be in need of. On top, you catch a hen for me. Vukinu dave. -With Thanks

-: Vuchee bro!! I'm glad to see that one of the matters of substance being discussed here is the library project. I still have the architectural design you drew for me. The former Canadian ambassador who was going to help me with the funding was recalled back home. But I've been inspired to renew efforts towards realising the dream.. The Erick Livumbazi Library and resource center.
