The struggle with many a rigid Logooli cultural practices

  The Logooli community is one of the deeply cultured societies – with near everything supposed to have been done as per custom – to allow another custom to follow. One example is that for a mature man (with a child or more) to be buried, there must be a house structure at home. Another is that a boy must be circumcised and nursed in father land. If maternal family decides to, the boy will have a hard time reconnecting with father people - a dent on his masculinity. There were two children who got burnt to death in a house in Nairobi. The single mother had left for night work. Elders were told that one of the children was Logooli. The other, the woman had sired with someone else. The Logooli family wanted to burry their little one and long discussed the do’s and don’ts. Of a man who died childless and the grave was placed as if he had died as a man with children. Lumadi Jenyeka: We started in 2017 as a community based group but have since diversified to start Saniaga Sacco. Under the CBO we already have a library/resource center in Wangulu.We hope through books and games,the computers,mentorship etc the resource center can help   children and young people to develop both socially and intellectually and indeed be of use to society as they grow.Through the resource center we hope to scout bright and needy kids that can get assistance to further their education through Saniaga scholarship program.This particular program is still work in progress.

We hope to establish as many of the resource center throughout the county as well.

Ngana Lubanga: It would have been in order to introduce yourself to members upon joining. We would not know who you are if your name is hustler. You don't need to be the hustlers spokesperson. I joined three weeks ago and made all the members know who I am. I think that would have been in order isn't it. I didn't however mention my profession but at least members got to know the origin of Patrick Ngana. So the senior counsel can speak for himself not through a spokesperson. Vuchee vasaniaga vooooosi
