Heavy responsibilities for elder aunt among the Logooli

With Seenge Fonesi. She is the elder grand daughter of Isagi and elder daughter of Amugasya. She is often present in functions involving the family of Amugasya. Pic taken on 18/4/2024. The elder sister soon becomes the elder aunt. It is this “seenge munene” (elder aunt) tag that she is tied to many cultural responsibilities – back home. To her marital family she may appear as any other woman, but she is not so in the eyes of her people. Marriage does not steal her away as it would happen with other daughters of the old man. To her, as days go and the old man and woman of the estate are dependents, she becomes increasingly present.  Her brothers also need her for almost all traditional markings. They are marrying, she needs to welcome the new wife. They are giving birth, she needs to come to midwife or “bless” the new born. They are paying dowry she needs to lead the women delegate. There is a conflict she needs to come for a hearing.  And many others. Traditions does not expect her to

As we wait for the AGM at dawn

Lung'afa: Welcome Baba Chamegere. 

Here are your fellow aged brothers and sisters, your younger ones and we your children. All with a desire to be close as a family. We are presently 209 members here. 

We understand over the years you have been very passionate with Saniaga Agenda and still you pursue that purpose as chairperson to Saniaga Welfare Society. Were it not for such long time desire to have Saniagas source strength and accomplishment within we would not have had the idea to be here as one and with such a cohesive interaction. You are revered. 

We need you even more. That is as we need to raise the saniaga flag higher, through guidance and experience you have accumulated.  There was a myth that 'saniaga na vandu ve mitwi midinyu' and our interaction here has proved otherwise. That we are straight to the point, we abhor divisive agendas and we want to achieve a mark of our time. The commitment here is humbling. 

The point is that you will find this forum as one among others where the larger saniaga family can be reached and be spoken to. That what you have been dreaming of can at least be shared and passed to us so that we may strive together to achieve it. 

I loved the welcome the first day we met and I will personally strive to be close to you for more and what best we shall do together.

Thank you for the invitation to attend the Saniaga family AGM.  Due to other commitments Ill send my representative. 
I've seen some different amount contributed to Sacco team  I request to know more about it and possibly to join the same.  If you have bye law to the Sacco can you  send to me please through my email address johnmahero2016@gmail.com. I'll appreciate very much. Also if you have a collar T-shirt size LXXX please give to him I'll give you the money on 02/01/2019 when you come for Archbishop Birthday part.
Otherwise I appreciate the good work you are doing to bring together the great beautiful Saniaga clan. May God  Almighty  bless the SANIAGAS to prosper greatly.

Lung'afa: Hello Mr. Mahelo. Your apology has been received and the one whom you will send is most welcome. The meeting will represent our best interests. 

I have sent the proposed constitution to your mail given above. The meeting team shall discuss it and suggest whether or not to pursue it or correct it. 

The contributions here were only a target before AGM. That a member was required to give at least Ksh 3, 000/- as a show of commitment to Sacco idea so that when we meet for AGM we shall endorse an idea that people are passionate with. The given cash is individual's investment and nothing has yet been discussed further but the meeting that awaits us at dawn. All that will be said and suggested is what we shall abide by and use to inform all others. 

The birthday party will see some of us attend because we shall come to meet saniagas and talk more about ourselves and activities we are pursuing.
