The struggle with many a rigid Logooli cultural practices

  The Logooli community is one of the deeply cultured societies – with near everything supposed to have been done as per custom – to allow another custom to follow. One example is that for a mature man (with a child or more) to be buried, there must be a house structure at home. Another is that a boy must be circumcised and nursed in father land. If maternal family decides to, the boy will have a hard time reconnecting with father people - a dent on his masculinity. There were two children who got burnt to death in a house in Nairobi. The single mother had left for night work. Elders were told that one of the children was Logooli. The other, the woman had sired with someone else. The Logooli family wanted to burry their little one and long discussed the do’s and don’ts. Of a man who died childless and the grave was placed as if he had died as a man with children.           REF:   INVITATION TO SANIAGA CBO ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING ON 29TH DECEMBER 2018

 

It is with humble request that you are invited to Saniaga CBO Annual General Meeting that will be held at Saniaga (S-CBO) Library in Wangulu Market on 29-12-2018 as from 9am to 12pm.


This year's AGM is aimed at appreciating the collective efforts members and friends have contributed both directly and indirectly in ensuring that last AGM's resolutions were satisfactorily met and surpassed. You are therefore welcome to this reverent session.


The main Agenda for the meeting will be to discuss and endorse SANIAGA SACCO as one of the proposed activities under the Economic Empowerment pillar of Saniaga CBO. The meeting will read and approve the SACCO constitution and appoint members to foresee the registration and initial functioning of the SACCO.


Another agenda of the day would be to formulate a 2019 calendar for the CBO.


We are looking forward to your feedback and contribution that will aid us to a prosperous year, 2019.
