The Kamnara of Sakwa are making ground to build for future generations

Greetings from the Kamnara of Sakwa! The Kamnara people of Sakwa on 27th December 2024 gathered at Village Park, Ajigo (near Bondo). Hosted by Kwaka Joseph, they hearkened to the consultative forum call, arriving in good numbers and early enough for a successful day. The gathering was chaired by Mr. Nying’ro James Onyango, a former (retired) assistant commissioner of Police. The introductions were excellent. The genealogies were mentioned in reverence, lengthy ones applauded. And courtesy of Enos Oyaya’s book, “Kamnara my people”, anyone who would need help had the documentation. Oyaya had launched the Kamnara book on 30th December 2022 at his home in Kamnara Mwalo, an event that gathered Vakamnara from far and wide. “What can we do that the generations to come will benefit from?” This was the clarion Mr. Kwaka Joseph called on all to fashion their minds to. Otiende - Saniaga not varogoori

Lung'afa: Otiende is Munondi (this clan has tales of voroji -do not misquote me.) He mentions waganga there....vanondi had strong ones. 😎

Peter Kirima: He mentions that maragolis might have come from down south or there about? Zimbabwes (shona speaking) use 'dz' alot.

Lung'afa: Which clans...what does he say of 'foreign' clans in the book,

Peter Kirima: He doesnt mention much. Consider this excerpt however.I found it interesting

Peter Kirima: From JD Otiende ,Clearly we are not maragolis.about time to discover who we are

Lung'afa: He adds to others...We either are of Luo or Kalenjin origin. But when we speak of  Luo we speak of a people who are short lived. To think you are a Luo is not enough, Luo is an amalgamation of other tribes mostly Bantu. But to be a Kalenjin yawa! We can refuse that by saying we are of Southern Bantus which Maragoli say they are and we arent. Haha. We need to dig up ⛏🗝

Ndanyi Saniaga: JD Otiende and Mathews Mwenesi were Subas, Avasuva; halala na Saniaga na Gusiihi (Gusii), they followed their uncle Mulogoli and made the clans thus.

Peter Kirima: Luo! No. Should be Nandi  and other semetic tribes. JD Otiende reckons that masai people sorrounded the who luhya land. He also says when tribes fought they were replaced and never returned to original land. He also mentions femine replaced people and they never returned to original place. Saniaga could be a mixture of everything from masai, nandi na other luhya tribes

Lung'afa: Jakamunara is Luo. Onamu believes we were fathered there. Onamu kutura Gambogi.
