The struggle with many a rigid Logooli cultural practices

The Logooli community is one of the deeply cultured societies – with near everything supposed to have been done as per custom – to allow another custom to follow. One example is that for a mature man (with a child or more) to be buried, there must be a house structure at home. Another is that a boy must be circumcised and nursed in father land. If maternal family decides to, the boy will have a hard time reconnecting with father people - a dent on his masculinity. There were two children who got burnt to death in a house in Nairobi. The single mother had left for night work. Elders were told that one of the children was Logooli. The other, the woman had sired with someone else. The Logooli family wanted to burry their little one and long discussed the do’s and don’ts. Of a man who died childless and the grave was placed as if he had died as a man with children. It should have been dug on the sides, the grave. A real thorn should have been thrust in his buttocks, his name go...

Let us be clear ...

Lung'afa: I get you big bro. And that leads us to the Agendas.

- Family, what is in your mind? What should we discuss come the day? Something that would see us give our best?

Evans Muhali: In this msg you say there are some programs/projects we may undertake... that's where I want us to start...which Programs/projects are you talking about?

Lung'afa: Allow me avoid this for now. Though I shall answer it. Or rather, do you have anything in mind that would spur Saniaga CBO?

Jeska sidika Wambani: Good evening all. I think we should be serious and answer questions. If we are the committee to organize then I would like to know how much money has been collected by Metrine. We can't start talking about next year when the innuagral has not even taken place. Mr. Lung'afa kindly request a list of those who have paid and we go ahead and confirm with SOSA for the event. Otherwise you give them a range of people who would be expected. It's better you give a small number and if double comes, they can then pay the Hotel rate and not negotiated rate. Sidika

Jeska sidika Wambani: We should put a deadline for payment three weeks before the event for planning purposes. Sidika

Lung'afa: In this case the deadline be?

Jeska sidika Wambani: Next Sunday. It won't be three weeks but it will give us time to plan well. Sidika

Lung'afa: That's tenth?

Kibisu Joash: Sawa kabisa, l can now  see the missing link. Leadership!

Lung'afa: Has it jumped to leadership? These are suggestions.

Jeska sidika Wambani: Kindly add your suggestions. We are all leaders of our lives. Let's give some inputs so that we move ahead. I will have to make travel arrangements for this event, where I will sleep before traveling back. The program is important right now. That is why I would like to know the situation. We need to be focused, constructive and not analyze each other's input. I think leadership is important to stir things. Sidika

Lung'afa: Deadline is good. Govedi earlier suggested that even for Membership there be deadlines. Those who drag their feet to wait for next opening. That people register only thrice a year. Jan, May and September months. The rest of the time be for activity. Which is OK.

NOW, how are we going to 'make noise' on Saniaga Family forum that the importance is felt? They taking it so obvious.

- Mgph!

Jeska sidika Wambani: I can do it for you now. I don't think we should put a deadline for membership. It should be for the event on 30th December 2017. You can increase membership registration for those who will not have registered by 30th Dec. Sidika

Lung'afa: Please do it (not for me of course).

And membership, by the way it will assume a gradual increase as per a by law we shall strike. The reason as to the months is to set time for membership mobilisation. And tasking. That you purposely enter when the Organization is ready to induct you. Or else it be a slow jams ( Sunday Songs)
