The struggle with many a rigid Logooli cultural practices

The Logooli community is one of the deeply cultured societies – with near everything supposed to have been done as per custom – to allow another custom to follow. One example is that for a mature man (with a child or more) to be buried, there must be a house structure at home. Another is that a boy must be circumcised and nursed in father land. If maternal family decides to, the boy will have a hard time reconnecting with father people - a dent on his masculinity. There were two children who got burnt to death in a house in Nairobi. The single mother had left for night work. Elders were told that one of the children was Logooli. The other, the woman had sired with someone else. The Logooli family wanted to burry their little one and long discussed the do’s and don’ts. Of a man who died childless and the grave was placed as if he had died as a man with children. It should have been dug on the sides, the grave. A real thorn should have been thrust in his buttocks, his name go...

Pre - Meeting on Friday.

- : FRIDAY MEETING
- Odei confirmed that he would be away. So its Dad Ngoda, Ndanyi and I.

I happened to meet Mr. Muhali yesterday and he was interested of the Friday meeting at Sosa. I invited him though I will call him to update on time.

- So we shall be four. And if there is any other person here willing to attend, Unakaribishwa.

-: Afternoon? But I will be flexible for the sake of each one's comfort.

-: Because Dad Ndanyi will be in early morning, then we just have to communicate the time as Morning hours. Let Dad Ndanyi say the time.
- Thanks

-: @⁨Lung'afa⁩  @⁨Baba Ndanyi⁩ Some urgent matter came up last night and I've had to convene a brief meeting of the Mbale area Highway Stakeholders at my home at 9am today. I was given no leeway by the Regional coordinator because he was also ambushed. This means I cannot be at Sosa by 9am. Please can we make it 10am, with my apologies? Thanks!

-:Morning Dad, no problem.
- Lets do at ten.

-: Thanks. If you'll come thro Mbale nipitie. Will introduce you to the man - "building working networks".

-: Vurahi. We shall be with Muhali Aggrey too. Tutakupitia home then tuchukue TAXI. 😂😂😂😂.
- See you in a few hours from now.

-: Wonderful. Awesome! See you.

-: There are saniagas not in the group who will come by invite. Many of them have not been reached. So we got to do that in our ways as we mobilize them. Though paying is not surerity of attendance, so is not paying a suggestion of not turning up. This is a way also of continuously journeying in identifying whom amongst us holds the spirit dear.
- You updated!
