Luanda Reggae Defenders - what is your long term agenda?

Luanda Reggae Defenders is a now a popular movement with roots in Vihiga and border Siaya and Kakamega counties Attention is brought to the manner and conduct the movement has gained fame and followers, mainly the Youths. The movement capitalizes on funerals. With a poor culture of putting the dead to rest, the Reggae Defenders have taken it by storm and rebranded the infamous ‘Disco Matanga’ – disco at funeral. They have this huge old school sound system that is over buzzing to no clear reggae song - that they hire a pickup to carry - and it has a young DJ mainly standing there than mixing anything. Often, against the rules, the casket is grabbed from a hearse vehicle and tied to a motorbike. There it will be swayed and jerk breaked between other motorbikes on the narrow roads. That, is, how a fellow soldier, often a young dead, is mourned. ...

Minutes of First AGM - 30/12/2017

Family, I know any curious Saniaga who in one way or another did not make it to the AGM is anxious to be updated.

I will be very brief therefore in light that actions are better than words/promises.

We discussed to Take SANIAGA to the next level. One key thing to identify with Saniaga is through registration or payment of life membership (500 & 5000 respectively).

You therefore shall be able to join Saniaga projects, depending on areas of interest and collaboration.

As from the first AGM, the Organization decided;

1. To run a sponsorship/fellowship fund to support needy yet bright learners.

2. To set up a community library in aim to support 1 above, act as a resource point, be an immediate Saniaga office, reach out to community.

3. Undertake a Saniaga Yoghurt project as a business idea.

4. Through a Health program, engage people on maternal and child care in partnership with local health facilities.

The 4 points of engagement were deeply discussed, timelines set and reporting is after 3 months when the committees in charge shall submit their doing to the executive.
