The struggle with many a rigid Logooli cultural practices

The Logooli community is one of the deeply cultured societies – with near everything supposed to have been done as per custom – to allow another custom to follow. One example is that for a mature man (with a child or more) to be buried, there must be a house structure at home. Another is that a boy must be circumcised and nursed in father land. If maternal family decides to, the boy will have a hard time reconnecting with father people - a dent on his masculinity. There were two children who got burnt to death in a house in Nairobi. We met at Sosa!

Hello Family, today we met at Sosa Cotages and had a chat on the way forward. We met Hubert, he said we were so undecided the time he was in this group. We asked him how he expects to host us and said we a very small team, no worries. A tent will be set for us by one end of the field. There we shall have an open field association. If rains catch with us? I will provide a free room for you, he said. About food? Local taste, he will keep note. And of  course there are foods they offer, good for any visitor. No big deal with preferee. And how many are you coming? Haha, all saniagas? We said 50 pax with a warning that more were expected. So what if fifty people fail to turn up? You got to pay for the food, you Saniaga Org. They will come more than that, we hope. So it be the kitchen is capacitated to do more service for the more that will come. A hundred could come but our minimum is 50. So then we got to start contributing towards it. Yes. All, sure of attending to send ksh 1000 to Metrine.
