The struggle with many a rigid Logooli cultural practices

The Logooli community is one of the deeply cultured societies – with near everything supposed to have been done as per custom – to allow another custom to follow. One example is that for a mature man (with a child or more) to be buried, there must be a house structure at home. Another is that a boy must be circumcised and nursed in father land. If maternal family decides to, the boy will have a hard time reconnecting with father people - a dent on his masculinity. There were two children who got burnt to death in a house in Nairobi. The single mother had left for night work. Elders were told that one of the children was Logooli. The other, the woman had sired with someone else. The Logooli family wanted to burry their little one and long discussed the do’s and don’ts. Of a man who died childless and the grave was placed as if he had died as a man with children. It should have been dug on the sides, the grave. A real thorn should have been thrust in his buttocks, his name go...

October, Cancer Awareness Month

[06/10 10:47 pm] Jeska sidika Wambani: October is the breast cancer
awareness month. Breast cancer affects both male and females but
common in the later. Please do self breast examination and visit a
doctor for any noted change in your breast. Sidika
[06/10 11:01 pm] Jeska sidika Wambani: I have looked again and seen
the other views. Yes indeed that is in the forehead. I believe. Sidika
[06/10 11:03 pm] Gracey Saniaga: A very good and encouraging video Sidika!
[06/10 11:08 pm] Jeska sidika Wambani: Karibu and check your breasts
in front of a mirror. They will not be symmetrical if there is a
cancer. The skin also changes and shows orange peel surface. Rest and
rise well. Sidika
[07/10 7:22 am] Metrine Saniaga: A medic told me attending this cancer
check ups triggers one's cells to be tested positive especially the
pap smear tests, kweli Dr. Sidika pls enlighten us in this note
[07/10 7:24 am] Evans mwifa saniaga: Ghai...triggers!!!
[07/10 7:39 am] Vincent Iramuka: Hogwash. I doubt that was a doctor
saying that. Screening helps detect early cancers or other lesions
that could transform into cancer. This allows for early treatment
before the disease advances thus ensuring better outcomes
[07/10 7:40 am] Evans mwifa saniaga: Doctor from the moon!!
[07/10 9:10 am] Vincent Iramuka: Should be from Mars. We usually share
our knowledge with Doctors from the moon 😉
[07/10 1:14 pm] Jeska sidika Wambani: Good afternoon all. What you
have expressed about cancer screening is not true. Most likely the
check up identified early stage disease. This is particularly common in
sexually active ladies and those with positive family history of
cancer( brings in the hereditary genes). Just make the check. Sidika
[07/10 1:41 pm] Metrine Saniaga: 😆😆😆you guys your comments! It was
a certified pharmacist in fact who told me that, but thanks for
clarification my brothers
