Heavy responsibilities for elder aunt among the Logooli

With Seenge Fonesi. She is the elder grand daughter of Isagi and elder daughter of Amugasya. She is often present in functions involving the family of Amugasya. Pic taken on 18/4/2024. The elder sister soon becomes the elder aunt. It is this “seenge munene” (elder aunt) tag that she is tied to many cultural responsibilities – back home. To her marital family she may appear as any other woman, but she is not so in the eyes of her people. Marriage does not steal her away as it would happen with other daughters of the old man. To her, as days go and the old man and woman of the estate are dependents, she becomes increasingly present.  Her brothers also need her for almost all traditional markings. They are marrying, she needs to welcome the new wife. They are giving birth, she needs to come to midwife or “bless” the new born. They are paying dowry she needs to lead the women delegate. There is a conflict she needs to come for a hearing.  And many others. Traditions does not expect her to

Ngusares, Ndanyis, Indires, Olindos and Kagasis

-: Correction -Navuhe not Navuye .But its still wrong the gusares lived in Itovo village in Givole sub location Tiriki west. They were Tirikis even before they moved to where they are now. Their brothers, (the Keyogas)moved to Gimarakwa in Tambua location tiriki West. So,the Gusares, are just a family belonging to Avalago subclan of Saniaga
Thankx

-: 😁 I had started thinking this Navuyi is a different place from Wanavuhi that I know.

-: Thanks for the antithesis.

Any remnants at Navuhe? Was there any settling? Or Keyonga moved with all.

Avalago. Is it a 'house?' Then it would go that Saniaga had many many 'houses' than the few known.

- Asante

-: In Navuhi they are many Saniaga but they don't belong to ngusare's family as u had particularised .
May I also with due respect remind u about our family tree:
Mahomo was the father of:Saniaga and Kizuza,for some reasons they parted ways. Saniaga then had five sons;
1.Ng'ende 2.Ahai 3.Mulago 4.Luuma 5.Ludundu

-: Vakizuza...

We share an ancestor with them? Somebody help with reasons for separation.

As for sons (houses) of Saniaga, I am aware of Mweremi, Magavira, Luliva, Ahai, Asacha, Kavonji, Nyanza and Andago. There is one with an S am forgetting.

PS
For some reasons some elders do not like 'mentioning' houses in Saniaga. I do not know why.

But for study, whether positive or bad, we have to note. We have to know who was who that did what. We are not here to justify or negate our forefathers but treat everything in passive neutrality - for education purposes only. Whoever desires otherwise is limiting the scope of his learning.

Thanks

-: Lisaswa

-: Yes, Risaswa.

-: My lineage
Ndasia father of Mudave
Mudave father of Ndanyi and Ang'undu and two sisters
Ndanyi fathered Ugada and four brothers and two sisters
Ugada fathered Arthur Lugusa and his 6 brothers including myselefu and 5 sisters; anybody from the lineage of Ndasia?

-: Mudave is a popular name up there...

I will be going to Gavalagi to collect this. Your brother is good in it too.

-: Yes my brother Harry has a collection of such generational information

-: Note that we are all right. But one thing to note is that we can't put all our great grand fathers on record. For instance, my great grand father was Mbali who sered Mahasi, lisasa, indiegule, ayodi, afwanda etc or ngusare who served, avwova, kedemi keyoga etc . No this cannot happen
Look at the Bible it's Abraham-Sara

-: All these people converge somewhere, we are trying to get closer to the point of convergence, we may not get there but we can get close

-: Yes,this Mzee Ang'undu's family. They belong to any of Saniaga's subclans I have mentioned in my early statement

-: 😊😊.

David - Jesus. Mathew 1: 1-16.

Abraham -Isack -Jacob -Judah -Perez (son of Tamar) -Hezron -Ram -Amminadab -Nahshon -Salmon -Boaz -Obed (son of Ruth) -Jesse -David -Solomon (son of wife of Uriah) -Rehoboam -Abijah -Asa -Jehoshafat -Joram -Uzziah -Jotham -Ahaz -Hezekiah -Manasseh -Amon -Josiah -Jeconiah (carried to Babylon) -Shealtiel -Zerubbabel -Abiud -Eliakim -Azor -Zadock -Achim -Eliud -Eliazar -Matthan -Jacob -Joseph -Jesus (of Mary).

Abraham to David - 14 generations
David to Jeconiah - 14 generations (captivity)
Jeconiah to Jesus - 14 generations.

42 generations.

If true, history is well kept here. I think I am seeing an era somewhere or loss of ancestry. 400 years in slavery and bondage... Judah and the house. And generations. Someone can explain?

With Thanks.

-: The Ang'undu am talking about is the younger brother of my grandfather Ndanyi, Mudave their farther had two sons and two daughters.

-: Yes! The Saniaga one is only 5generations away. For ours was an oral history told from ancestors and may be some factors were forgotten. While the biblical one was written on Clay tablets

-: Yeah! I've always remembered that my mother once told me that my family is Vasaniaga va vaa'Andago. And our original home was in Chambiti next to Chanda primary school where part of the extended family is, and where one of my brothers was given land. Where our main home is ,in Hambale Waziivi, was bought by my paternal grandmother for seventy bob from someone called Simoni Jumba then my father expanded it by buying more. Other branches of the family are in Murongelle and in Migori, South Nyanza. Place called Kakrao. There was a hard cover book I discovered at home that had the names of our ancestors, four generations back and I crammed them offhead... Chuma/Mayoya, Anyima, Segera, Ndoma.

-: My elder brothers who are in this forum are, for some reason, silent followers,😅 but I'm sure they might be knowing more about  our lineage.

-: Okay, as we end here, let's do more research but one thing we should Bear in mind is that the saniaga family dispersal area was wamondo in Vigina-Vihiga and not Chambiti.Could be Chambiti is where ur family dispersed

-: Good morning family,

If we draw our hypothesis to Vigina, then we have also to know where we might have come from to find ourselves there. With such semi-sureness, we can then advance our study and have tangible tales for the next generation.

-: 😄. You can imagine if we all got quiet.

-: Then there is the Alengas, Kagasis, and Indire and Olindo, sijui walichomokea from Ndasia or where I don't know, any clues?

-: Hahahahaha, may be wewe ulichomokea huko Inyanza kwa Akina Amboka,

-: Interesting. I am from murong'ele. I have not heard this version. It gets me very excited to start tracing lineage with far off Families. Anyone else can confirm this lineage?

-: Always though Bugina was the dispersal point. I'm learning alot today. Let's keep talking please

-: The Alenga, the Kagasis, the Indires and the Olindos are the Ahais descendants

  1. Someone enlighten me in which lineage does Onyagi (or is it Unyagi), Nyambaga, Lihamba, Ayieko (or Ayiego) belong to?
