Luanda Reggae Defenders - what is your long term agenda?

Luanda Reggae Defenders is a now a popular movement with roots in Vihiga and border Siaya and Kakamega counties Attention is brought to the manner and conduct the movement has gained fame and followers, mainly the Youths. The movement capitalizes on funerals. With a poor culture of putting the dead to rest, the Reggae Defenders have taken it by storm and rebranded the infamous ‘Disco Matanga’ – disco at funeral. They have this huge old school sound system that is over buzzing to no clear reggae song - that they hire a pickup to carry - and it has a young DJ mainly standing there than mixing anything. Often, against the rules, the casket is grabbed from a hearse vehicle and tied to a motorbike. There it will be swayed and jerk breaked between other motorbikes on the narrow roads. That, is, how a fellow soldier, often a young dead, is mourned. ...

Rest in Peace Laban Kereda

-: The late Laban Keleda Kibe was my father, a retired teacher,  choral music guru of repute, retired Sergeant Major, A saniaga welfare treasurer,  a jolly soul to be near. As we mourn,  we are alive to the fact that every minute of our life, the nearer the grave. He battled colon cancer that was diagnosed at stage 4 having spread its pangs to other delicate internal organs.  He drown in his own body fluids due to kidney and lung faillures. Thank u ladies and gentlemen for the balming effect of your prayers and words of encouragement. Goodbye.

-: I am extremely sorry for the demise of mzee Laban Kereda Kibe, Saniaga from Chamakanga. I knew the late mzee when he visited the Saniaga of Tambua in Hamisi sub county in October 2018 to advise us on opening a Saniaga Society branch. He was a very resourceful mzee to the Saniaga society. On behalf of the Saniaga welfare society Hamisi West branch I send out heartfelt condolences to the family of the late mzee Kereda and fraternity of all the Saniaga community in Kenya. Let the mzee rest in peace.

-: On Sat, Dec 29th last year 2018, during the Saniaga Welfare AGM at Chavogere S.A church, first for my meeting him, he had finished reading a financial report, and if in admonition to the young or peering the near future, he had said how he wished the young were active in Saniaga activities. He saw himself worthy taking the back sit and his treasurer position held by a fast runner. Now he rests. It should not be like time old associations where death punctured Saniaga dream. 

- Guga, we shall take it from where you left. RIP.
