The struggle with many a rigid Logooli cultural practices

The Logooli community is one of the deeply cultured societies – with near everything supposed to have been done as per custom – to allow another custom to follow. One example is that for a mature man (with a child or more) to be buried, there must be a house structure at home. Another is that a boy must be circumcised and nursed in father land. If maternal family decides to, the boy will have a hard time reconnecting with father people - a dent on his masculinity. There were two children who got burnt to death in a house in Nairobi. The single mother had left for night work. Elders were told that one of the children was Logooli. The other, the woman had sired with someone else. The Logooli family wanted to burry their little one and long discussed the do’s and don’ts. Of a man who died childless and the grave was placed as if he had died as a man with children. It should have been dug on the sides, the grave. A real thorn should have been thrust in his buttocks, his name go...

No to knee jerks, let us patronize programs!

-: The finals for Saniaga library term 2 debates are kesho at Vohovole primary school as from 2pm.It would be nice if those nearby attended to encourage the young ones. Those who can't can also send Mwandihi the librarian something small to help in Logistics, Asante.

-: @⁨Mwandihi⁩ that's his number please send even 200 bob to buy stuff like pens etc that they can gift participants

-: @⁨Exec Erick⁩ @⁨Douglas Beru⁩ @⁨Analo Gladys⁩  kindly support us for tomorrow's debates at Saniaga library

-: Somehow this should not reach here. Saniaga should just know what is going on and through ways as membership subscription and owning a program ensure its viability!

We do not wanna start the funeral 500 thing. No begging at all. You will be receiving activities updates. And programs shared. Ask yourself about your input. Do you volunteer, show good will or support of any kind? If the answer is not clear, pull up your socks!

Do not send 500/-!

Patronise a program.

- With Family Love.

-: Alright the librarian has asked for my support  and that of members the times I've been at the library,I see no problem if members do so.I think I took direction from him please feel free to let others excercise leadership and guidance too Saniaga is independent from you or any other member. And I say this with love Lungafa, your dictatorial tendencies tend to scatter your peers instead of uniting them.Learn too,we all are.

-: Sometimes an iron fist is needed for things to move. Freedom makes people loose track at times.

-: Thanks. It was not Lulu I was addressing. It was our brothers and sisters here, inactive. Whereas Saniaga activities are not as demanding to make anyone feel gagged or the forum so outsourced for anyone to feel out of place in participating in anything here, we can over time engage than see us do little kneejerks time after time.

- We can do better.
