Heavy responsibilities for elder aunt among the Logooli

With Seenge Fonesi. She is the elder grand daughter of Isagi and elder daughter of Amugasya. She is often present in functions involving the family of Amugasya. Pic taken on 18/4/2024. The elder sister soon becomes the elder aunt. It is this “seenge munene” (elder aunt) tag that she is tied to many cultural responsibilities – back home. To her marital family she may appear as any other woman, but she is not so in the eyes of her people. Marriage does not steal her away as it would happen with other daughters of the old man. To her, as days go and the old man and woman of the estate are dependents, she becomes increasingly present.  Her brothers also need her for almost all traditional markings. They are marrying, she needs to welcome the new wife. They are giving birth, she needs to come to midwife or “bless” the new born. They are paying dowry she needs to lead the women delegate. And as we rejoice for the new day, let me say that mugorova I met Joash Kibisu @⁨Kibisu Joash⁩ in his office, Norvi Concepts at Odeon, Nairobi. He is an established saniaga in matters printing, branding, engraving and all. Nuwenyaa okore kindu chosi chosi, kuri T-shirts, caps, Car branding, charts and vindu vindi, umurore.

We said it would task us to first do T-shirts, and have it as initial way to reach out to everyone. People's preferences would be key. Then we would do customised items; charts, vitambaa, utensils etc.

There is need for a small physical location and we are all requested here to think about it. A small place, probably at Mbale. Where we could be doing our show case of items. The items will not be limited to vasaniaga alone. Vandu vosi vaguri.

We talked much more but also agreed that members needed to add up, Follow ups needed to those who haven't registered and get to meet more saniagas one on one. Which we said was possible.
