Heavy responsibilities for elder aunt among the Logooli

With Seenge Fonesi. She is the elder grand daughter of Isagi and elder daughter of Amugasya. She is often present in functions involving the family of Amugasya. Pic taken on 18/4/2024. The elder sister soon becomes the elder aunt. It is this “seenge munene” (elder aunt) tag that she is tied to many cultural responsibilities – back home. To her marital family she may appear as any other woman, but she is not so in the eyes of her people. Marriage does not steal her away as it would happen with other daughters of the old man. To her, as days go and the old man and woman of the estate are dependents, she becomes increasingly present.  Her brothers also need her for almost all traditional markings. They are marrying, she needs to welcome the new wife. They are giving birth, she needs to come to midwife or “bless” the new born. They are paying dowry she needs to lead the women delegate. There is a conflict she needs to come for a hearing.  And many others. Traditions does not expect her to

-: OK so help me understand,
1.I have gone to saniaga.blogspot.com ...how do I find the objectives of the group or the clear descriptions of what is intended? There is a lot of stuff going back to 2014 I think but I have a challenge accessing the relevant info...I won't manage to read everything. Since there will continue to be new members can there be a summary introduction for all new joiners?
2. Objective #1.1 on the constitution is to sustain a sense of belonging among members...how will this be done?is there a meeting?...it is hard for me to feel I belong/contribute when I barely know people in the group or its objectives.
3.Objective #1.3 cooperate n assist projects, undertake capital investment programs that will assist better lives of all. So when we are being asked to contribute 500for membership and 1000 for investment, what investment is it...shouldnt it be we have the business plan in place first,costs/risks/benefits and then call for funding? And how will I benefit from my 1000? Coz for me I would want to be a member just for belonging not investment since it seems there is no clarity on what investment is to be done...
3. Mambo ya pesa ni ngumu...where r the checks n balances regarding the funds? How come the account isn't open if there are officials already? Statements?
4. I had asked what happened to the previous office and what mistakes led to the decline of the group previously, before this new boost of energy?
5.on communicating in maragoli, for a person who cannot understand it, saying that all people to use it to communicate will  just make things harder...I may be the only one who doesn't understand and if  so let me know so I can perhaps consider my options.
6. Had it been  communicated and agreed that discussions in this watsapp group forum are to be copy/pasted on the net? I need clarity on this as well.
Thanks

-: May the gods descend. It is getting hotter. In my small way I will try to answer. And anyone who can answer, it will be good to add.

-: Nothing hot here, just questions from a person who wants to understand ...thanks

-: This are the REAL issues. Factual and debatable

-: Selma you are not the only one, I also don't understand maragoli so alot of information is lost on me

-: Don't worry I was like u five years ago

-: With time when u get to converse with this guy and read the blog and dad's book u will know with in no time

-: It seems like its only about 4-5pple who know what's happening and everyone else seems lost in the woods. Their attempts to try get some little info are always met with harsh and guarded sentiments from some of the 4-5pple. We need a sober, tolerant person to just handle communication. All of us are respectable people.

-: The chairman does well and Metrine.

-: Relax guys, the good thing is you want to know, that's the starting point, Patty, the ball is in your court!!

-: Chairman, I don't think Patty is better placed to handle.

-: He is relax

-: I know what I'm putting across

-: Great people are not learned look at someone like Ben Carson he is a good example

-: You seem to have a personal agenda. This is diverting issues.

-: 1. Most of the information on membership and the Constitution has been explained by Patty.
2. The matter concerning investment is what I don't understand very well, as Selma has explained.
3. Also maybe wherever a new member joins some of this information can be put across
4. And if you are adding a member, you could also explain to them what is going on.

-: Give him time , am meeting him on Friday, will instruct him on how to pass the info

-: Great...thanks chairman

-: First, objectives, mission and vision are with the constitution. Not at the blog. The blog has been my research tool since 2014. And it is now a point to archive what will be later useful. It may therefore not have all info on one page but in several pages separated by time.

2. Unless you do not understand or you've double understood what sustaining sense of belonging is.

-If you can't contribute because we have not had a collective meeting, the constitution provides that our first AGM will happen at end year. If you will wait till then for you to register, well and good. But how would you have an AGM to what you haven't officialised?

- It is just time before you knew all of us. It would not be different from now. In fact most of the active people here are introverts when you meet them. Me one.

3. An investment is what we shall settle upon once some amount of money has been gathered. One of the things that AGM may highlight would be business plans, future doings. It would be good if by then some money would be in and members would have known how they are in resource mobilisation and such.
- Not willing to contribute for investments means you are not for saniaga spirit of love and cooperation.
- Who but you and us need to brainstorm on investments? No one has yet channelled the way forward for the  group. Take the opportunity to turn the questions into suggestions.

3. (you repeated 3). The bank account hasn't yet been opened. As the certificate is received we have it as our next item. That does not mean any excuse of sending money should be nourished. Our treasure, by the trust we need to have, can receive and disburse funds in a manner that is open.

4. About the previous office, I hold no remembrance. I understand that in 80's, when the government disbanded ethnic unifications, it could have lead to it. A historian would guess other issues like lack of motivation, individual disagreements... etc. I leave this to those who can light it.

5. We encourage people to communicate in mother tongue. It is one of the heritage factors that have pulled us here together. If one finds it difficult, it should rather be a challenge to learn than a reason to feel out.

6. About having these discussions posted to the blog is as important as the future beneficiaries would study. The archives would show how we moved from point to point. We would, if we take the right path, come to appreciate it. Shame is in failing, emptiness and whining for none would want that 'preserved'. Yet it is part and parcel of the present. However, if one does not wish to be named, the Character can be Anonymous. Haha. Fifty years from now, to have acted Anonymous, would be the greatest shame to the then generation.

Having tried to explain, I may have not exhausted or been on point. That would call for more discussions which are welcomed.

Thank you too.

-: Try ignorance. Why do we go to school? To pass time or just because our age bracket are in a certain class?
This is Kenya my fren!

-: How many Ndanyi's do we have in here?

-: Victoria, kukiri kukarana emondo! (we have not shared a gizard).

And sisters need not to look brothers in the eye. Even if the brother is junior. #important.

I would want to meet you soonest!

-: Some of us might not be able to write fluent Maragoli but surely we can't claim not know it at all....Let's be proud to take the opportunity to learn.

-: Gdafternoon sanigas...hope site tu buheri wa afya...I've been following keenly though very new to the group...kindly, I seek clarification on the 1k.is it to be contributed once or monthly, half yearly ama vipi

-: Selma, I would love to hear feedback. Sometimes the challenge is that once questions are answered, people take to brooding. It would be my wish that next time such a view comes up, you take the mantle.
- We need to own this.

-: We have an array of issues to discuss and when think you will tear apart our brothers and sister we may be extremely lethal. I will stand for them and would appreciate displinary action to be executed. It is unacceptable

-: Till our first AGM thereafter we may see how best. May the chairperson respond to it.

-: Chairman said he is to meet with you on Friday....so that is why I have not yet responded to your feedback...I have read through your response though and will revert after your meeting with the chair

-‬: Watu hawajilipa registration wanaandika wapi comments, I wish to air my views

-: Hapa tu!!!

-: Wanapiga tu kelele hapa. wanauliza objectives. Please air your views.

-: Really? Was this comment necessary

-: Kuuliza ni makosa...kupiga kelele...wow...

-: Selma, that if we meet the reply would be different? Joke, jokes and more of it. What if you replied to inform the meeting even better? Vasaniaga!

-: Isorait my fren

-: Mr. Lungafa, mind your language plse.

-: If nothing else...please accord me  as much respect as I have so far accorded you boss...

-: Don mind. Ni ucheshi tu. It was the question that I found sarcastic. 🙈

-: You have it. Much of it.

-: I can see we are almost a crowd, but let's be organized, talk and express yourselves freely, but remember you are talking to your brothers, sisters, cousins, parents, aunties, uncles, grandparents, close relations, so whatever you say, give due respect, it's a blessing and doesn't cost you anything.
