Throwing Spanners to the works
-: Mireembe mwosi?
Vanaanga Lumadi wi Jenyeka.Akakaana ki zisoni kutura iMuhanda, South Maragoli.
Mwisukuru wa mtiga Ogwero Jenyeka.Rwivuru rwiitu ni rwi iChango navuza vaguuga vahamira iMuhanda. Mu kiduma yimu mbemu ni vakoza nindi vasenge vange.
I joined the group for the social aspect of it first, nivurahi vandu kumanyana. We are all 'serious' with our careers and whatnot but it does not hurt to assemble under a tree with your people mkubii zimbaka.
After I joined the group we did zimbaka for a bit then of course being Saniagas proper the idea to solidify the group by having members register came up.
We all emailed Lung'afa our ID copies and he and Metrine volunteered to go get us registered.I believe Saniaga CBO is fully registered under law.
Next came the issue of registration fee, which I believe is necessary for commitment purposes.
Then the 1k for investment and the tisho part.
I have not paid yet but intend to do so.
Perhaps what new members want to know is:-
1.What does the registration fee do? Sit in the account? Cater for admin costs?Who is accountable for how the money will be used?
2.The T-shirts-is it part of the group? As in if I buy the t-shirt,what ammount if the mark up goes back to Saniaga group? If it is just a venture to promote a saniaga businessperson can that be made clear as well?
3.The 1k for investment, what is it going to be doing btwn now and the AGM when we meet?Sitting in the bank?
Lastly,is paying of all the funds an ongoing process or there is a deadline?
Personally I would like to request to do all the payments on the actual AGM day if there is no urgent use for the money.
Once everyone meets it is easier to do financial commitments.Let us brainstorm on ideas for investment in the meantime.
Otherwise this is a very good initiative.
I am an Accountant currently working in Mumias and would not mind meeting new friends from around.
Mgasizwii.
-: A good thing would also for people to do a quick orientation of their friends before adding them here.Normally when one joins a group you cannot see previous discussions.
-: that what introduction is and not ambushing people
[27/09 6:59 pm] Fanuel Saniaga: Mkana witu kumbe uveye ha mumias yaha?mbeyage kakamega....umbitira ku nuziza yengo....sande mno...govoraa yaga nigirigari....
-: Let us keep discussing and raising the issues.
Equally, let us show commitment. Cause it is easier to say than to do. It will dawn on us later that we spent too much talking, arguing, mistrusting and achieved little. That shouldn't be.
When a disagreement is in a family, people do not leave. Where to? Is there another home? You will remain a saniaga. Stay and beat the path together.
I am sorry to say that some of us may have rediscovered they are 'saniaga' the moment they were added having little childhood knowledge of culture and such. My prayer is that we develop the interest that it surpuses the projects and initiatives we may undertake.
Importantly we are on track just that we slightly disagree. Personally I shall still pursue courses that not only put us together but foster our heritage. It is not necessary they be money related- for it seems we conflict there.
May we keep talking, shouldn't we?
-: This forum/family should be built on three pillars
1.social
2.economic
3.political.
We want to be a force to reckon with.
A family that will motivate, nurture and develop us.
We should not be selfish because one may think the other will benefit.
Lets start this thing and make it work for our own benefit
-: Good thoughts bro Lung'afa.
My opinion would be we do not have to invent the wheel esp matters investments.Let people meet, register formally.
We could start with a venture as simple as table-banking and we could graduate to other things with time.
Once we gain momentum hata saniaga biz people can vend their goods/services during meet-ups.
That would be perfect timing to sell branded saniaga merchandise like tee's too.
-: Good one. That's why we are brainstorming. Let's own the process and every one is equal here. Let's not sit on the sides then throw spanners in the works when we get to the forming process.
