Luanda Reggae Defenders - what is your long term agenda?

Luanda Reggae Defenders is a now a popular movement with roots in Vihiga and border Siaya and Kakamega counties Attention is brought to the manner and conduct the movement has gained fame and followers, mainly the Youths. The movement capitalizes on funerals. With a poor culture of putting the dead to rest, the Reggae Defenders have taken it by storm and rebranded the infamous ‘Disco Matanga’ – disco at funeral. Reggae Defenders on move. Pic: Charles Rankings: Facebook They mobilize quickly on the day the dead will be discharged from the mortuary. They have this huge old school sound system that is over buzzing to no clear reggae song - that they hire a pickup to carry - and it has a young DJ mainly standing there than mixing anything. Often, against the rules, the casket is grabbed from a hearse vehicle and tied to a motorbike. There it will be swayed and jerk breaked between other motorbikes on the narrow roads. That, is, how a fellow soldier, often a young dead, is mourned. ...

From Ndanyi to Madete to Indire - Successes?

Ndanyi Madete‬: I have added Ambassador Madete proprietor Sosa cottages Ltd and my brother Eric Mukaye. Children to the former chairman of Saniaga clan the late John Madete.

Govedi Muzami:band I added you.

Victoria Ndanyi: @ Ndanyi madete ,now that you have mentioned former chairman, when (years)was he the chair? And who is the current chairman? If the association has been there what is being registered? This is what Patrick evaded to highlight, though he tried to explain.

Lung'afa: Victoria, ovee zimbiru.  I would be happy to clarify any other item.  And some information is researched.  It doesn't drop. Kovee hal'la?

Victoria Ndanyi: @patrick, may be you're as new as me in the group. Or u are assuming I know what those who've Been here longer know. Ni vile your communication sometimes inanichanganya. Ama niulize nani zile clarifications Niko nazo so that it doesn't appear personal

Lung'afa: All that we have ever said here is archived at saniaga.blogspot.com under various headings. Get there, read as much...and just maybe, maybe, questions will reduce.

Ndanyi Madete‬: John Madete exited the chair in 2000 after his death in come Prof. INDIRE

Victoria Ndanyi: 2000 is a longtime! I thought its a recent group. Just heard of it few days ago

Ndanyi Madete‬: Get the right information. The group held the clan together. The trees have grown bigger. We have other Saniaga group's that are in existence and doing extremely good. The Chahale's, Obiri's, Madete's, Mahasi's, Indire's Luvai's and many more.
Let's strive to give the group meaning before we start criticizing our founders. Remember we are the branches from the trees.

Lung'afa: Did he leave any historical information preserved somewhere? Like dispersals and such? I am interested.

Ndanyi Saniaga: I have read members comments etc, briefly I remember b4 John Madete became chairman, my late grandfather, Matayo Ndanyi was chairman, during Madete's
tenure, my late dad Elisha Ndanyi was secretary. In 1982 Nyayo banned all tribal associations, it was his way of clipping the wings of the powerful GEMA, the Saniaga Welfare Association voluntarily disbanded in solidarity with Nyayo, subsequent Saniaga leaders after 1982 were just there by name, any questions?

Lung'afa: Questions?
1. What had the Association achieved at the time before going underground?
2. Madete is said to be the latest Saniaga 'leader'. Did he operate for a grouping or all saniagas at large. And what lead to his decline for we are hearing of his leadership through whispers. There are theories of disagreements among saniagas sometimes in their time.

- For children should seek learning and understanding.  I hope it will be informative to us all.

Ndanyi Madete: The current Saniaga chairman is Prof. Indire.

Ndanyi Madete‬: We have our grouping combining Saniaga's and Saniak's. Remember we have tiriki's, maragoli's and Kalenjins. The Kalenjins include Late Hon Paul Titi, Late Hon. Biwott and the Kamnara brings in the Luo like Hon. Odinga

Ndanyi Madete‬: Prof. Indire is alive and lives in Vihiga county on your way to Luanda.

Lung'afa: Good to know and I appreciate. But Indire is said to be sick. Thrice have I visited but asked by Guku Kageha that he won't help me much...though I'd have preferred handshakes. She says however that Prof. got Saniaga info in some files...something that I'd have wanted to get any contact of his child or grandson. But I was told 'ni vurahi kuhana zinamba vuza mba'. All interesting to that level, it is not only pleasing to say Raila is saniaga because there is that rumour. What greater information is there to prove it? Where do we connect on family hierarchy? I was told Arap Titi was saniaga. The family denied it when I went there. Ruth Odinga was not sure of that when I asked her about her knowing what Saniaga is. Please keep digging for our consumption. It is night time and so story time too!

Victoria Ndanyi: good info.
