Heavy responsibilities for elder aunt among the Logooli

The elder sister soon becomes the elder aunt. It is this “seenge munene” (elder aunt) tag that she is tied to many cultural responsibilities – back home. To her marital family she may appear as any other woman, but she is not so in the eyes of her people. Marriage does not steal her away as it would happen with other daughters of the old man. To her, as days go and the old man and woman of the estate are dependents, she becomes increasingly present.  Her brothers also need her for almost all traditional markings. They are marrying, she needs to welcome the new wife. They are giving birth, she needs to come to midwife or “bless” the new born. They are paying dowry she needs to lead the women delegate. Roles and Responsibilities in Saniaga CBO

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES IN THE ORGANISATION
These offices, also referred to as Teams, are providedly driven by the need for efficiency and collective responsibility among the members. Each member shall be assigned or chose a responsibility under a Team. Its aim is to decentralize activities and promote ownership of the course in diversity. It also serves to incorporate ideas from all ages, professions and promote bonding. It will also enable smooth transition and sustainability of the organisation. Membership to the positions is voluntarily. A team leader is responsible for all activities that a team undertakes and writes a report to the Executive Committee during Members' meeting. As need may arise, more teams shall be provided in by-laws to serve interests of all members.

16. 1 ORGANISING SECRETARIAT

The Organizing Secretariat shall have the following authority and responsibilities;
- Coordinate the activities of the Executive Committee with other organs of Saniaga.
- As determined by the Executive committee, supervise the procurement of supplies and facilities for Saniagas operation.
-Represent Saniaga CBO in Outreaches as requested by the executive committee.
- As cordinator of activities it shall ensure the proper provision of EVENT materials and services.

16. 2 WELFARE TEAM

The team shall have authority and responsibility as stipulated below:
-Represent members with needs in the Executive Committee,
-Deal with matters related to the welfare of members.
- Maintain updated records of members fairings.
-Promote the integration of members with special needs in activities.
- Coordinate Interactions and related activities in the organisation.

16.3 TALENT TEAM
The talent management Leader shall have the authority and responsibility as stipulated below:
- To attract potential talents that are in line with objectives of the organisation
-To develop potential talents and creativity
-To motivate people to explore their talents and abilities
-To retain productive talented people in the organisation
-To engage the executive committee and CBO on better talent management practices.

16.4 NFORMATION AND TECHNOLOGY TEAM
The position is provided to spearhead contact to new ways of information research, sharing and access. The team will be responsible for websites, online pages and updates on current happenings in relation to the policies of the organisation. It will also harbor the archives of the organisation for future references. In need for new approaches to a task, the team will be involved in research to inform the organisation better ways of running an activity. The team will be responsible for advertising for the initiatives offered by the organisation so that organisation members are well conversant with. The office will also be responsible for information sourced from Partner organisations.

16.5 RESOURCE MOBILISATION TEAM
The team leader and members will seek to find people, skills, talents, capital and ideas among other ways that will ensure smooth running of initiatives for sustainability as provided for in this constitution. If a philanthropic request is brought to the organisation, the team will be responsible advice on how Saniaga CBO can take part in such activities.

16.6 ENTREPRENEURSHIP TEAM

The team has the authority and responsibility in respect to this constitution to foresee potential growth, suggest programs, initiatives and projects, betterment of an initiative to attract more effort returns and increase resources for the growth of the organisation and betterment of livelihoods. The team will spearhead opportunities in line with the objectives of the organisation and other arising needs.

              16.7 ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP TEAM
This article is provided for in this constitution in recognition that as many a number of individuals who have interest to join organisation activities but in regard to commitment and outlines of this constitution wish to be partners or friends of Saniaga. Such members shall participate in all other Members' obligations and rights except voting and being voted for but can occupy nominated positions. The Organ will advance such members interest throw by-laws that abide by this constitution.

16. 8 AMBASSADORS
The position is open to people who in the normal running of the organisation will come into contact with the activities and express interest. They may not register as members but still participate in the activities. Their operations will be coordinated by Executive Office. They may be people of good will with a similar interest as of the CBO. One will need to register as a member having been in such relation with the Organisation for more than two years.

17. ADVISORY BOARD
The organisation recognizes the importance of having an advisory board to offer expertise and necessary support to increase the ability of the executive committee. The board will offer advice to the executive committee on its procedures and plans. In case of misunderstandings in the executive committee, or a matter is brought to their address by the Executive Committee, the board will sit to hear and offer a direction that will favor objectives of the organisation and not the wrangling parties. A decision to disband the organisation will also be discussed by the Advisory board before being decided as final.

The following are the requirements of one to be an Advisory Board member in Saniaga organisation.
-Include a sufficient individual who is recognised and trusted by the history of his or her career/work.
-Possess enough relevant professional and operational expertise (governance, finance, technical skills)
-Of a range of intelligence to ensure that the board maintains oversight and standards of due diligence, and brings a sufficiently broad ethical perspective to its deliberations.
-Be consistent with Saniaga's mandate and values (with respect to diversity of the objectives.)
-The individual will serve for a maximum of five years as member of the Executive.
