Luanda Reggae Defenders - what is your long term agenda?

Luanda Reggae Defenders is a now a popular movement with roots in Vihiga and border Siaya and Kakamega counties Attention is brought to the manner and conduct the movement has gained fame and followers, mainly the Youths. The movement capitalizes on funerals. With a poor culture of putting the dead to rest, the Reggae Defenders have taken it by storm and rebranded the infamous ‘Disco Matanga’ – disco at funeral. They have this huge old school sound system that is over buzzing to no clear reggae song - that they hire a pickup to carry - and it has a young DJ mainly standing there than mixing anything. Often, against the rules, the casket is grabbed from a hearse vehicle and tied to a motorbike. There it will be swayed and jerk breaked between other motorbikes on the narrow roads. That, is, how a fellow soldier, often a young dead, is mourned. ...

First AGM ; 30th December 2017?

-: Kindly float some dates for the AGM and we schedule it. I would like to know the agenda and the possible cost for the meeting duration. Would it be one or two nights booking? Kwibange kale. Sidika

-: Amazi maduvuku gavula umuyaga, coupled with, amasaahi namalitu kuvita amazi, these sayings or proverbs are so real; yesterday guys were tearing each other into pieces, its interesting that you can still communicate and give out useful information, keep it up guys, its the best way to grow as one large family. I suggest  tentatively Dec. 30 as the day of our AGM, it is still subject to debate, you are free to discuss and give alternative date. Mugasizwi mwosi.

-: Your word is law mr. Chairman.

-: Thanks for the info Doc!

-: Kwakatura mukisundi. Vucheyage.

The Chairperson has suggested Dec 30th as our AGM. We go by that though I'd have suggested 26th, Cultural Festival Day.

Now, let us look forward to the day with some good preparations. The day should find us so organised that we would only eat and laugh together as we confirm and approve a 'few things'.

Importantly, an AGM is for 'members'. That is, people who are committed or else somebody could attend as a 'visitor'. It should be clear to us that as much as we may call ourselves 'Saniaga', the AGM is for Saniaga CBO, not Vasaniaga. And the good reason is that the CBO has more than only Vasaniaga, not limited.

Commitment is shown when a member is involved in group activities. The CBO provides registration,  contributions and Team participation. For us to work maximumly and join efforts, let us identify ourselves as Teams. The AGM would be smooth if a good number of us would have already done this. It also prevents 'fence watching and spanner throwing'. We all committed.

Have a Team Day, won't you?

-: Chairman, there's something I haven't understood. Its appeared in the secretary's comment above and its in the CBO's constitution, part II, 5(a). That clause that says "membership is open to all Kenyan citizenry". I think for a start we have Saniagas only. Then members will later decide on whether to include other groups/individuals and terms of association. Otherwise, it's gonna be an amorphous group.

-: Victoria, if the government knows this it could disband the group. 😎😎. It would be seen as a malicious grouping. We need to be open. And you may find non saniagas being active than saniagas themselves! 🙈🙈
- It is but a CBO.

-: Tend to think that before Dec  30 is better. Ikue kama  mid Dec

-: Mid Dec azbeta.
